Can a foreign national apply to join a cannabis club in Mallorca or Madrid?
Freedom of association and applying to join
💡 In plain English: Foreign nationals also have the right to associate.Foreign nationals have the right to associate in Spain. Article 22 of the Spanish Constitution recognises this right, and Article 8 of Organic Law 4/2000 provides for its exercise on the same terms as Spanish citizens.
💡 In plain English: Pre-registration and in-person checks at the social club.If you are visiting Madrid or Mallorca, check the participating social club’s requirements and prepare your membership application. The Crew has a collaboration agreement with participating social clubs. The Crew’s digital pre-registration pass is the first official step in its membership application process and gives you priority at the participating social club’s reception desk to help speed up in-person verification. The association verifies your identity and decides on admission under its statutes and the applicable law. This reception priority does not guarantee admission.
Identity checks for non-residents
💡 In plain English: Aged 18 or over, with a valid original identity document. The social clubs require applicants to be at least 18 years old. At reception, you must present an original, valid, physical official identity document accepted by the club. These are the social clubs’ admission requirements, not a universal statutory document list.
- Passport: The standard identity document for travellers from outside the European Union.
- EU national identity card: European Union citizens may present their country’s original, valid, physical national identity card, subject to the social club’s acceptance criteria.
- Check that your pre-registration details match your identity document to facilitate in-person verification.
Educational information, not individualised legal advice. “Official” refers to The Crew’s own pre-registration process, not government authorisation. Collaboration and reception priority are service terms stated by The Crew; the club retains the final admission decision.
